For all the lady readers of my blog, I wanted to share this interesting fact for friday. In 2013 women have surpassed the number of men who finished races by over 20%! There were about 25,000 finishers in the NYC marathon in 1989—nearly 20,000 of them were men. Last year, men still outnumber women, but by much less of a margin— around 31,000 men and 20,000 women finished. Women did make up 61% of all half marathon finishers in 2013.
