As distance runners we rely heavily on three things when we’re training to compete: mental clarity, lung capacity, and physical strength. There are few things that can have such an impact on all three of those at the same time quite like getting a cold or the flu. It’s incredibly important to maintain our health if we want to continually compete at a high level. The holiday season and flu season tend to be one in the same, both in timing and in lore. There’s never been a better time to share with you some facts and bust through the fiction of cold & flu season, and for that I’m using this infographic from Bankers Healthcare Group. If you aren’t a physician yourself, you may not know about BHG, but they are a financing company who specializes in providing financial solutions to medical professionals. Take a look at this infographic they’ve shared, and be sure to take note. The last thing any of us need is for the flu to interrupt training.
