Tomorrow is the Chicago Marathon and many of my friends and patients are running in it. I wish them all good luck and hope they relax and enjoy the race!
It will be exciting to see what Dathan Ritzenhein runs as he plans to go out a 2:06 finishing time pace (4:48 per mile pace!). Last year he ran a 2:07:47.
Chicago has been the site of four world records (two by men, two by women), and it’s the fifth-fastest marathon in the world on the basis of the average of the ten fastest performances in race history. “Chicago is known as somewhere to run fast,” Kenyan Micah Kogo, second at this year’s Boston Marathon, said on Friday.
