High Intensity Interval Training
|Although I’m not in 100% agreement with high intensity interval training, I would like to post this information at the request if the author who shared it with me. Without a doubt high intensity training can help with strength gains, and for runners improving those fast twitch muscle fibers, but It should not be performed daily. I think that’s where the majority of injuries result from as the body is not getting a chance to recover from the demands that were placed upon it. Varying workouts and introducing higher intensity runs 1-2 times a week can be much more beneficial then performing them daily. While a hard high intensity run can be a great replacement for a long easy run on days where time is of the essence, I do not recommend it daily.
Thanks!
